Lusaka & Zambia
Around 1–6th September - 14/15th September
We're planning to arrive in Lusaka sometime between the 1st and 6th of September — if you happen to be around at that time, we'd love to meet up for a coffee or a sundowner before the celebrations begin.
Zambia has plenty to offer for those arriving early and looking to make the most of their time:
- Kafue National Park — one of the largest national parks in Africa, about 4 hours from Lusaka. A fantastic option for anyone keen on safari.
- Lower Zambezi National Park — stunning river landscapes with excellent game drives and canoe safaris, about 5 hours from Lusaka.
- Livingstone & Victoria Falls — one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Highlights include sunset cruises on the Zambezi, a visit to the vibrant Mukuni Village, and of course the Falls themselves.

Serengeti National Park
14/15th - 19/20th September, around 4 nights
The most iconic safari destinations on earth. Three full days in the park feels like the right amount of time to really take it all in.
Getting there
Fly from Lusaka to Arusha / Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) — connections typically run via Nairobi, Addis Ababa, or Dar es Salaam. From the airport you can either hop on a small charter plane (roughly 1 hour), or drive the 325 km — a scenic but long ride of around 8 hours.
- 3 full days in the park (4 nights) — a solid amount of time to see the Big Five and experience the endless Serengeti plains.
- Rough mid-range cost estimate for a couple: around €1,700–2,400, covering accommodation, park entry fees, safaris, and food.

Ngorongoro Highlands
19/20th - 21/22th September, around 2 night
We plan to spend 2 nights and 1 full day in the Ngorongoro Highlands — a beautiful stretch of highland with Maasai culture, dramatic volcanic craters, and a landscape unlike anything else on the trip.
Getting there
From the Serengeti, it's a 4–5 hour drive out of the national park to the Empakaai / Bulati Gebiet — you can see safari animals on the way, this tour is often included in the safari package
- Empakaai Crater hike — a hidden gem with a stunning volcanic crater lake and views over the Great Rift Valley.
- Maasai walking safari or a visit to a Maasai Boma (village) — a chance to experience local culture up close.
- We'll be staying at a lodge in the Empakaai / Bulati area.

Zanzibar
21/22th of September, around one week
Around the 21th or 22st we'll make our way to Zanzibar for a week of slowing down — white sand, warm water, and as much or as little as you feel like doing.
Getting there
Drive to Arusha (3.5–4.5 hours), then a short flight over to Zanzibar.
- Kitesurfing, diving, and snorkeling in crystal-clear waters.
- Nature and wildlife — including a visit to Jozani Forest, home to the rare Red Colobus monkey.
- Beach relaxation — the kind where you don't need a plan.
Nothing is set in stone yet. As soon as we book anything — flights, accommodation, or safari packages — we'll update this page.
